A seasoned economist with 19 years of experience, he specializes in corporate strategy, SME development, and multi-sector advisory.

Mr Kamugisha, a Ugandan national, is a co-founder and Principal Partner of BLEGSCOPE and has 19 years of relevant professional experience. Prior to forming BLEGSCOPE, he was a Manager at Ernst & Young LLP East Africa, responsible for development consulting, SMEs and corporate strategy. Before joining Ernst & Young, Mr. Kamugisha was a Portfolio Lead at The Innovation Village, a Business and Economics Advisor at IUNGO Capital and a Projects Officer at FRIENDS Consult Limited. Mr Kamugisha has consulted for numerous organisations in a wide sphere of services including Government agencies, Private companies and Non-Governmental Organisations. Mr Kamugisha received a BA Economics from Makerere University, and an MSc in Economics from Uganda Martyr’s University, Nkozi. He is a fluent English speaker.

CO-FOUNDER

With a proven track record in fundraising, market expansion, and operational efficiency, I am a well-rounded professional capable of navigating complex business challenges across various industries. I possess a unique combination of business acumen and industry networks enabling me to support organisational growth and create positive economic impact.

With a solid foundation in Commercial Banking, I progressed through various roles, starting from Personal Banking and culminating in Corporate Banking as a Corporate Relationship Manager. I transitioned to Management Consulting where I had an opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across diverse sectors. My experience encompasses SMEs, Large Corporations and Public Sector Entities, spanning various functional areas such as Strategy, Finance, Operations, and Marketing.

In addition to my professional roles, I have actively contributed to the community through volunteer work. I served as a Business Coach with Fontes and also as a member of different Board Sub-Committees at Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) and the Small Scale Industries Association (USSIA). I have also served at the Ministry of Finance’s (MOFPED) PROFIRA project and the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA).

I hold an MBA from Uganda Martyrs University, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Makerere University and several certificates in Management and Business. I am also an advocate for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives in business.

I am also a founder and CEO of Spanora Media Limited, a boutique Media Production and Marketing firm based in Kampala.
