Contracted to carry out Due-Diligence and Investment Appraisal Services for UDC client East African Medi-Vitals (EAMV) in preparation for outside financial support for equity.
UDC is a government owned entity that provides support to private sector players in terms of financial support for companies in different sectors that fit into their investment palette. We were contracted under an assignment to carry out extensive commercial, technical, market and legal due-diligence for this company. We also carried out investment appraisal covering financial projections to a 10year period and ascertain pay-back period, financial ratios, and arrived at company valuation to get to a figure for investment purposes.
BLEGSCOPE was contracted as the Economic Consultant to lead Assessment Of Socio-Economic Impact of the Kacheri - Lobalangit Road in Karamoja Sub-Region
As the Economic Consultant, I led the Local business survey involving one-on-one structured interviews with individual business people (e.g. shop owners and market vendors). This included objective questions that were asked to both the exposed group and the control group about their current status for comparison purposes. It also included subjective, mainly perception questions that were asked to business people in the exposed area and concerned effect of the project road on the businesses
BLEGSCOPE was contracted to develop a business case for youth internship model to be set up by Restless Development.
The objective of this assignment was to conduct an assessment of the costs and benefits of structured internship model. It sought to capture both the employers’ and interns’ perspectives on how the internship programmes influence their businesses and career growth respectively. The product of the consultancy – the business case was used to support the adaptation and institutionalization of internship programmes in government, NGOs, and private sector entities
BLEGSCOPE was contracted to develop a financial model for a new project at Fundi Academy.
As the Financial Analyst, I developed the financial model highlighting proposed project spending for a new construction project for the Fundi Academy that helped evaluate the decision to buy or construct.
BLEGSCOPE was contracted to conduct a due-diligence of UCA Project Sites and develop a strategic level business plan for a value addition producing service factory(ies) dealing in grain for its various Area Cooperative Enterprises (ACEs) located in central, Western, Northern and Eastern districts of Uganda
Uganda Co-operative Alliance (UCA) Ltd is a national umbrella body of all co-operatives in Uganda and is mandated to carry out advocacy and representation of Ugandan cooperatives, educate and train cooperatives at all levels, and also mobilize resources for the cooperatives. With grant funding from Private Sector Foundation Uganda’s (PSFU’s) Competitiveness & Enterprise Development Project (CEDP), BLEGSCOPE was contracted to develop the strategic plan that will enable strategic financing for the much needed grain and non-traditional cash crop value chain financing.
BLEGSCOPE carried out a due-diligence of all project locations and this was used to build into a full-scale comprehensive business proposal that will cover overall business strategy and model, organisational structure as well as financial model projections for the proposed value addition planned sites.
BLEGSCOPE was contracted to conduct a full Feasibility Study (FS) for a commercial Tin extraction project in Ntungamo district
Sumadhura Technologies is a leading water infrastructure services firm in Uganda with over 25 years’ experience. With a vision to mine and export TIN pellets, Sumadhura hired BLEGSCOPE to prepare a feasibility study and business plan that will guide the project. We covered the areas of strategy, organisational structure, market analysis, penetration, product development as well as a need for financing the project.
BLEGSCOPE was contracted to develop a business prospectus that will be used to raise financing for this local leading beauty products manufacturer. The business prospectus is being used to raise financing in form of debt to grow the business working capital.
The assignment focused on preparation of a business plan that gives a clear overview of the current organizational dynamics of Nevia Company Limited. We carefully identified the business’ financing needs as well as growth plan beyond the 2-3 year period. The need for the financing was to raise it current working capital that is needed to grow the company to its next planned phase. Currently, the business challenges have led to increased output to meet its growing sales need. The business prospectus is helping Nevia in raising financing from a local financing institution to a tune of 350M UGX.
BLEGSCOPE was contracted to conduct an Organizational Self-Assessment (OSA) and develop a Strategic Business Plan (SBP) for Uganda Martyrs University – Kabale Campus to acquire approval to offer course of Uganda Martyrs University and also an operational license from the Uganda National Council for Higher Education.
The assignment focus is to generate a comprehensive picture of the current organizational dynamics of the campus and carefully identify within the challenges that it is facing hindering its growth. Once the challenges are realized, a strategic business plan was developed to not only acquire approval to offer course of Uganda Martyrs University and also an operational license from the Uganda National Council for Higher Education but also allow the campus to achieve its growth objectives of growing from Uganda and Kenya to cover other East African countries like Rwanda and Burundi.
